Box Of Voices

Haven't posted anything for aaages. Thought I'd throw this out here. didn't play it all that well however, was a little hungover ;)

VERSE:

Somewhere, deep beneath the ocean,

Lies this box of voices hiding,

Masked in, dust like sand storms underwater.

CHORUS:

It’s the words I cannot say,
When I need them most of all.

It’s the ones that cut so deep,
Are pressing on my walls.

Release this anchor, thank you,
For all you haven’t done.

I’ll be waiting when they come.

VERSE:

Tie me down a rock is nearby,

Vocal flood walls leave me dripping words out,

Of my mouth when I have so much built up.

this one is a track of our/anlogue birds 5th CD. I was really in the mood to put something smooth on it! the melody is a traditional arabian for the oud, a short neck lute. the analogue birds performed as an quartett that time and an maroccan oud player was part of the ensemble. I asked him if he wanted to do the tune after I arranged a bassline and a drumpattern for it and put it into musical shape. first it was planned to do the theme just with an oboe. I already recorded the guide track with the oboe player, but for some reasons it never worked out. instead of that that, my neighbour and pubmate, coincidental a worldclass violin player, agreed on having a few hour recordingsession. he played the thing just from the sheet I printed out of "logic" for him:-)
the bassline I wrote never happened. instead of that a jazz organ player who provided the room for the drum recordings played some easy layers with his original b3/leslie on top of it!
my part as a didgeridooplayer and the role of the tube is more of secondary nature. I still love the piece for its history and sweetness. its so different from all the powerpieces we made!

My attempt at making some kind of House song a while ago.

It has a nice trancy lead somewhere, the bass is very loud and atrocious, and there is an ugly sounding guitar.

But that's not important, its all about the groove!

who's got bud 2

Here's a song about pot that I posted a while back. I pulled it because i thought I was taking up too much room on the server. I realized what a newbie i was when i started checking out other Ampers pages and seeing twice as many songs as I had posted! So, I re-worked this with keys and a better guitar solo track. The keys give it a vaguely Steely Dan vibe which is fine by me.
The lyrics are about being high. The brilliant, fleeting insights; the the lack of motivation; the munchies.
Lemme know what you think. Especially about the bass line. I somehow lost the audio files for the bass on the bridge section but I never really liked what I had there anyway.
BTW, this is a LONG song so if you listen to the whole thing, thanks!
Oh yeah, I should mention I don't condone the use of drugs

Thanks for listening.
